Hello. We are Milk Presents. For nine years we have been making critically acclaimed performance that centers and celebrates trans and queer narratives – in fabulous ways. Recent productions include:
BULLISH – 32 date national tour, sell-out three week London run
JOAN – Winner: Fringe First, Stage, Off West End awards, UK, Australian and European tours.
Chekhov’s THE BEAR/ THE PROPOSAL, Young Vic
We are looking to meet musical theatre performers who identify as non-binary and/or trans-masculine, for a major future production and other upcoming projects. We’re sorry we can’t say much more now, but we hope to be able to chat more if we meet you.
Essential qualities. In addition to acting:
- excellent singer
- good dancer
As a trans and queer lead company we understand the complexities around voice, singing, movement and appearance during casting processes – all good – just let us know if you want to chat anything through.
Casting meetings: 15th July between 2 – 5pm, London
We welcome expressions of interest from performers based anywhere in the UK and are happy to meet people by skype. We particularly welcome applications from people of colour, D/deaf or disabled people and people who identify as neurodiverse. We provide suitable access provision, in consultation with the people we work with.
Please send us:
- a photograph of yourself
- your performance CV
- optional: a show reel / website / any documentation of your work that might give us an idea of who you are and what you are about
Please send us these by 6pm on July 10th 2019. Send to producer Ruby Glaskin at firstname.lastname@example.org
- If we meet you it would be great to hear one song and a short piece of text/ monologue
- The venue for meetings is fully wheelchair accessible, has gender neutral facilities and is near a tube station. If there is anything we can do to make your time with us more comfortable then give us a shout and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
- The meetings will be trans led and you will be seen by Leo J Skilbeck and another member of the team. There will be someone else, who won’t be making casting decisions, on hand if you might need anything.
We will be in touch by 6pm on Friday 12th July and will respond to everybody.
