Join Team Milk and award winning performance designer and architect Bethany Wells to dream up your ideal queer space. One day we want to make a touring venue and we’d love you to be a part of it. What does your town, city, village or county need? Where would you like to party? To hang out, meet, celebrate, love, dance, protest?
Maybe you want a nail bar for families, or a drag workshop for elders? How do you queer a space? What makes a space queer? How do we make access & inclusion paramount? Help us answer these questions and more, and connect with fellow queers and LGBTQIA+ folk across the country. It’s a chance to reflect about queer spaces past and present, and imagine what this new moveable space might look, sound and feel like.
We’re hosting four sessions, each focusing on different kinds of places in the UK. You may fit into a couple of different places, that’s ok, you’re welcome to come to as many sessions as you like. Feel free to come to whichever you feel reflects best where you live. Our descriptions are not a perfect fit, we’re keen to learn about where you live so turn up anyway and let us know if you think we’ve missed you out!
