Part performance, part installation, Hi-Vis is landing on the streets of Newcastle & Derby.

High queer, high camp, high volume - we invite members of the LGBTQIA+ community to anonymously record celebratory declarations of queerness in one part of the city, and hear them broadcast via Milk’s loud and proud hailer on the other side of the city.

The pandemic has forced LGBTQIA+ spaces to close and Pride events to cancel, leaving the community isolated from each other. With many missing their queer fam Hi-Vis is an opportunity to shout out to the LGBTQIA+ community and be heard by those who haven’t stopped to listen before.

Join us for a free online workshop on Tues 4th May for an opportunity to gather with other queer from all over the place to chat about, create and record whatever you want to declare. Your recordings will be anonymously broadcast (with your permission), bringing passers-by reasons to be cheerful.
