Happy wife, happy life?

With mortgages to pay and sickly fathers to care for, Chekhov’s heroines are in a bind. They've got to coolly weigh up the practical benefits of marriage against their true feelings.

Our usual assumptions about love and marriage unravel in this bold new production of two of Chekhov's wryest comedies in versions by Michael Frayn.

Performed by a gender-fierce company of queer artists - George Ikediashi, Kamari Romeo and Rebecca Root, and directed by Genesis Award winner Leo j Skilbeck, as the Young Vic’s Future Director.
