Milk Presents are recruiting a Company Apprentice to join us for the redevelopment & national tour of Milk’s show for young audiences Marty and the Party. The Company Apprentice will learn what it takes to get a show on the road and get hands-on experience as a vital member of the touring team.

An adorable cheeky show for young audiences and their grown-ups.
There’s a party. It’s sure to be arty. There’ll be giggles and nibbles and the dress code is “smartly”.
Marty is heading to the best party there has ever been in the history of ever. Everyone has their dance moves ready - Fox is doing the foxtrot, Flamingo is doing the flamenco! But what about Marty?

What the role involves:
Assisting the Production Manager, Director & Assistant Director in the rehearsal room
Learning and implementing stage management skills such as updating the book (a script recording performers' routes and positions in the show), preparing the call-sheet (what time cast and team are due to be in the rehearsal room), setting props & costumes etc.
Learning and implementing technical skills such as operating the show, supporting get-ins & get-outs, writing show reports (a short form that is sent out to the wider team, detailing how the show went technically or if there is anything that needs doing) etc.
Being part of the touring company, supporting the Production Manager, cast & Assistant Director on the road
What support will you receive:
You will be paid £500 per week for a total of 7 weeks (3 weeks rehearsal, 4 weeks touring) totalling £3,500
During rehearsals, you will receive weekly relocation costs of £311.20 and travel expenses.
On tour, your travel & accommodation will be provided (single occupancy hotel/air bnb room, trains/van travel) and you will receive daily per diems (contribution towards living expenses) of £18.20/£25.80 a day on tour (amount dependent on catering facilities, according to ITC rates)
You will receive mentorship meetings & check-ins with Milk Presents’ core team (eg. Artistic Director, Associate Director, Executive Producer, Producer)
Who is this role for:
Someone who’s interested in or already running their own theatre/performing arts company. This role is aimed at giving you an overview of what is involved in touring a small to mid-scale show
Someone who is interested in learning or already developing new skills in stage management & technical operations
Someone who’s interested in visiting different theatres in the country and looking for experience in travelling with a show or being ‘on the road’ with a show
Someone who is a team player and is excited by being part of a touring company
